More good news! My pieces The Lion and the Mouse, Abby on the Stairs, and most unexpectedly my Diet Pills have all been chosen for the Illustration West 46 competition. The Illustration West is an annual competition by the Society of Illustrators in Los Angeles and I am once again honored to be chosen by them. These three pieces will be shown on their webpage.

WEST HARTFORD COW PARADE

10/12/07 04:41 PM
If you'd like to see a life-size cow painted as a farmer you really should visit the West Hartford Cow Parade. Commissioned by The Farmer's Cow company again, I was hired to paint what is now my "Farmer Cow" (or as my family has named her, Elsie). Quite simply she is a cow painted realistically to look as if she is dressed as a farmer. This project became one of my most difficult pieces of artwork, but she was definitely worth the effort.

NEW YORK CITY

09/01/07 05:01 PM
It's official now, I'm finally all moved in to New York City and I am beginning my new job as a Security Officer at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. I spend my whole day surrounded by Rembrandt, Caravaggio, and Vermeer. I can't imagine a more inspiring place to work. The city is great and if you're ever in the area, visitors will always be welcome.

Run to the grocery stores! I have just finished my first set of published works. The Farmer's Cow is a Connecticut family-owned company who brings fresh products made right here in CT to the every day consumer. Until now, The Farmer's Cow specialized in milk. In May, they hired me to paint three backgrounds for their new drink products they're releasing. Their new line is called "The Farmer's Daughter's", and it includes a Lemonade, an Ice Tea, and a Lemonade Tea Mix which should all be out in stores any day now. So keep your eyes open!

CADC DESIGN AIN'T PRETTY AWARDS

On Thursday, June 21st, the Connecticut Art Directors Club held the award ceremony to their annual spring competition called Design Ain't Pretty. In their student category, three of my pieces received awards. Both my pieces "The Lion and the Mouse" and "Geisha" received Excellence Awards and my piece "Abby on the Stairs" won a Gold Award.

3X3 STUDENT AWARD
05/23/07 09:02 PM
I have just received notice that my piece "The Lion and the Mouse" has won another award. Every year the 3x3 Magazine has an international student competition and they have awarded my piece with a Distinctive Merit. With a 20% increase in entries this year, only 5% made it to the winner's circle. It will be published in the 3x3 Illustration Annual No. 4 due out in January 2008.

THE END

05/21/07 01:51 PM
This finally marks the end of a great four years at the Hartford Art School. Yesterday morning I graduated with my BFA in Illustration from the University of Hartford. I am thrilled to announce that I was honored with the Doris Kinsella Student Achievement Award. I will dearly miss all of my friends and teachers. This may mark the end of one part of my life, but it also marks the beginning of something new. Also, on May 5th the Illustration class showcased our achievements with our Senior Show in the Joseloph Gallery at the University of Hartford.

SOCIETY OF ILLUSTRATORS AWARD
03/10/07 12:09 PM
I am happy to announce that my piece "The Lion and the Mouse" got into the Society of llustrators Student Show. It will be showcased during the month of May at the Society of Illustrators. Out of 4,000 entries, only 116 were chosen for the show. I'd like to thank both Bill Thomson and Dennis Nolan who helped me out with all of my Lion and Mouse book. And hopefully this will be a good step to getting the book published in the future.
